Hey guys!  First of all, I want to say I'm sorry that I haven't been blogging.  School started, our church is going through some difficult times, and I'm planning my birthday party (oh my gosh you guys should come!).

Sorry about not doing Talking on Tuesday.... people have not gotten back to me on that.  I sent questions for the interview to three or four people, and only one sent answers back.  So, I will have interviews from time to time, they just won't be weekly.

Anyway... onto the award!

On {growing up grace}, I post about so many things.  Awkward tween moments, funny stories, photography, the Bible, and just plain life.  I write secret letters to people (secret meaning the people who I'm writing to don't know that I'm writing about them...), I post about my friends, and I just let people know what's going on in my life.  To my friends, I'm known as the chatterbox who needs to just shut up sometimes (lol), so blogging lets me talk as much as I want to;)

movie review: hotel transylvania.

I loved this movie!  It was adorable!  And Selena Gomez was in it :)

Summary: Dracula's wife died, leaving him a single dad with a baby girl.  He is determined to keep his baby safe, so he builds Hotel Transylvania to keep her protected from humans.  On her 118th birthday, he lets her leave.  *Spoiler alert!*  She quickly comes back, but she met a human... and she kinda likes him.  Did she have her zing?  You only get a zing once.  Did she lose it?

Romance: Liking someone, kissing

Violence: *Spoiler alert!* Dracula's wife dies in a fire

Language: oh my gosh

Other: Dracula looks kind of scarey and comes unexpected when he gets angry (not recommended for kids 7 and under), Monsters (such as Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, Dracula, Vampires, the living dead, etc.)

Rating/Age: 4 stars, ages 8+ (because of monsters and romance)

um... a stalker maybe?

So, I had just finished 5th period. Algebra. It was fun. I had yearbook next, but I was hungry. I went to my locker to get some goldfish.

I always keep my locker unlocked. Actually, most of the school does. Almost all 7th grades, almost all 8th graders, and about half of the 9th graders are the only ones who lock their locker at all. Most high schoolers don't even own a lock. I keep my unlocked during the day, and lock it at night and during the weekends. Anyway, the point is that it was unlocked.

Where was I? Oh, ya. I wanted goldfish. So I went to my locker. As I open it, I see a note. The note said:

"We've been taking pictures of you. And we've been following you."

CREEPY!

I told everyone at yearbook. They all said, "Wow, that's creepy," or "It's like a stalker," or "Ooh, someone likes Grace!"

I told my mom (who happens to be the yearbook teacher), and she said "Ha, that's funny."

Thanks for the support, Mom.

Anyway, WHY DO I HAVE A STALKER? WHY ARE PEOPLE TAKING PICTURES OF ME?!

Summary: Dylan has to win Blossom Queen. It would make her even more popular than she is now! She has the coolest boyfriend, the prettiest friends, and her dad is rich. But is she popular enough to win? Her rival, Nicole, also has a chance at the crown.
Josh has his own problems. He needs to come up for a subject for his new movie, which he is going to enter in the Film Festival. He decides to go with popularity, and he wants Dylan to star in it.
Dylan sees this as an opportunity to be better than Nicole. If she has a movie made about herself, there's no way Nicole could win!
As Josh continues to film Dylan, he sees that she's more than a snobby rich girl. Spoiler alert! Behind the super pretty and snobby popular girl, there's a heartbroken girl who's lost her mom. Her mom was the Blossom Queen in 1985, and Dylan is determined to be just like her.

What I Thought: Man, this was a cute movie. I loved it! The acting was great. I love how Dylan is like a real person, instead of just a movie character.

I am 11 years old and I am in the 6th grade. I have two brothers and one sister. I like soccer and have a passion for helping people in Rwanda.

When were you saved by Jesus?
When I was seven years old.

Tell us about how you grow in your faith.
I go to church every Sunday and read my Bible. I also do daily devotions.

When did you start your blog, and why?
I started Knowing He Hears Us in September of 2008 because I thought it would be fun. ;)

What are some things you like to do?
I like to play the piano, do soccer and I have recently started playing the clarinet.

Are you home schooled, public schooled, or private schooled?
I go to public school.

I go to our town's public middle school. I like it a lot. It's really fun to switch classes.

How did you meet your best friend?
I met my closest friend at a preschool when we were one year old.

My favorite Bible verse is Romans 6:23 because it explains a lot.

Probably that I have been to Africa twice.

On Monday...

This was before I knew anybody.
A: how old are you?
Me: 12
J: A, are you checking out Grace?


On Tuesday...
J (different than the one above): Hey, Mr. S, since you're a police officer, can you buy a taser?
Mr. S: Yes, I can.
J: Will you buy me one?
Mr. S: No. That would not be responsible of me.
Me: Will you buy me one?
Mr. S: Sure!
J: Oh so you'll buy one for a girl but not me?
Mr. S: Correct.


On Friday...
We got into groups of three in English. I was in a group with S and C. A (same A in the story on Monday) was in a group next to me.
I forgot what A was doing, but S said "A, stop hitting on Grace and let us work!"


So... school has been awkward. But funny.

During lunch, people get out their guitars and start singing. It's really cool. Think of Hollywood Arts from Victorious... outside, lots of music, awesome funny people... it's a lot like that.

And I love it!

I LOVE UVC!!!

It is soooo awesome. The guys in my class are really funny. The girls are really sweet. I love my teachers. I convinced my Bible and Study Hall teacher that I am his favorite student.

movie review: monte carlo.

Summary: (MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS) Grace has finally graduated high school, and she gets to go to Paris with her friend Emma! One problem - her step-sister Meg is coming with her. After their first day in Europe totally sucks, Grace thinks her life is over. That night, she is mistaken for a rich girl and immediately is given red-carpet treatment.

Romance: flirting, getting engaged, dating, cheating, kissing

Violence: none

Language: a**, cra*, di**

Other: talking about alcohol, lying, some clothes in the movie are not modest (AT ALL), people die, stealing

Rating/Age: 3.5 stars/13+

What I Thought: I loved this movie. Super cute, super fun. It was funny, too! Spoiler alert! The ending was very very very unrealistic. Grace ends up NOT getting arrested for stealing a million dollar necklace AND someone's identity. That's not real life, people! Even if she said she was sorry in front of everyone, the police would still arrest her. It does have a cute ending, though, when she finally "meets" Taio.

*This movie was rated PG, but I think it's almost (but not quite) PG-13 material

what is making me nervous.

SCHOOL IS IN FOUR DAYS!

Ya. Scarey. I know.

So, hopefully I'll have locker 55, and this guy in a grade below me will stop hating me, my teachers will like me, Algebra won't be hard, the kids in my class won't freak me out, and that stuff.


I HAVE A STALKER!!!

Or, had. I went to my church campout, right? Super fun, but awkward at some points (you can read about THAT here). Anyway, I went to the playground with H, K, and M (H is a girl, K and M are guys). K brought his baby sister. This nine year old kid jumps in front of me (litterally, JUMPS) and looks at me with his freckles and flaming red hair and says, "Guess what? I'm going to follow you!"

I have never seen this kid before.

Then, seeing my look of, um, TERROR, he said "Well I just love babies" (I was holding K's sister)

And follow me he did. Pretending to keep his attention on the baby.

I handed the baby to H, and he stayed away from me. And the baby. Once I got the baby back, I had my stalker again.

So, K is kinda scaring him. And this nine year old kid runs up to me and yells "Your 20 year old brother is scaring me! And he's being a terrible parent!"

My 20 year old brother?

First, K is 13. Secondly, we are not related. Thirdly, PARENT?!

Nine year old stalker thought K's little sister was his little daughter.

Creeeeeepy.

Then nine year old stalker says "How old are you?

Me: "12."

His eyes lit up. "YOU'RE ONLY THREE YEARS OLDER THAN ME!"

This kid is scaring me by now.

I mouthed to K, H, and M, Help me!

Soon my stalker had to leave.

Phew.

Now, you might ask, why is that making you nervous now?

Well, I always feel like someone is staring at me now.

It's scaring me!

Fun, right? Algebra 1 and Yearbook are both high school subjects. That makes me sound smart :D

My parents want me to go for valedictorian. I don't wanna. I don't wanna flunk every class, but I don't want my whole life to be school, you know? Sure, I'll aim for straight A's. That would be great. But a B isn't gonna kill me. A C might, but not a B.

Anyway, I'm excited :)
